I havent used those before but if you are getting something that pretty you might want to look into a coil relocation kit as well so they can be seen. I think those covers look great personally.

I thought about the coil relocation. Are you talking about the style that bring the coils up on the side of the intake?
You can get these style valve covers (maybe not these particular ones) without coil mounts.

I was talking about the coil relocation kits that hide the coils under the shroud above the engine. Can't see them at all. They won't be anywhere near the valve covers.

Sorry I didnt post pictures earlier...I was on my phone but here are some that give you an idea of what I was talking about. Quite a few different kits out there. Some move them to below the motor, some above and behind the motor, and some to the right and left of the motor.

I like both styles. However, I'd be concerned with resistance and voltage loss with the long wire length on the second style.

Good quality wires and it shouldn't be a problem. I don't see it as being any different than an engine with a conventional distributor.
If you wanted to keep the coils on the covers, you might be able to get away with running plug wires for the trucks. Truck wires are about 1" or 2" longer (can't remember) than the passenger cars. I use the truck wires on our LS1's just because I like the extra wiggle room.

FBJ - Good suggestion, especially if I go with these taller valve covers, the extra few inches will probably needed.

Here's a look at the OEM wires for a truck. This is a 6.0 I had out of a 2004. If you look closely, on the truck engines for what ever reason, GM mounted the coil packs up high on the covers with a different bracket system. Coils are not running down the middle of the covers like the passenger cars. This required a long wire, what looks like to me at least 2" or so.
Truck wires are a different part number and slightly longer because of this. Should work on the tall covers you are looking at Gullett as long as you use a passenger car coil bracket with the coils down the center of the cover.
Edit: Oh well, picture attachments isn't working for what ever reason.
