Speaking of dams and Deal's gap. The Cheoah dam at the bottom of the Dragon's tail is the dam they used in the Fugitive.

yep!!! I've got a damn funny story about that

so my wife's grandmothers buddy "Gene" found the dummy they threw out of the dam that was wearing the orange jump suit...he put it in his truck and rode around with it in the passenger seat for a few months. It now sits in his garage...100% true story.

He lives up there and takes people across Fontana Lake for hiking and stuff like that.

I can probably get one next time I'm up there. That same guy I was talking about keeps an eye on our camp in Fontana when we're not around.

He's an interesting character...he was backing his boat into Fontana Lake about 4 years ago and forgot to put it in park and his truck didn't stop till it was in about 20 feet of water lol
