    Lid Question...

Been looking at getting a new lid because mine is still stock...dont know how the person before me did full exhaust and left the stock lid but they did. At first I was looking at the SLP lid, read all about the fitment issues and decided to dig a little more and I came across the volant lid which looks pretty badass...

Anybody have any experience with these? Sounds like it seals against the bottom of the hood and I also read that it may need some very minor modifications.

This is what it looks like...think it will have any issues with a stock TA hood instead of a WS6?

Will used to have one. Here's what he told me.

Seals good with ram air hoods, with non ram air it would have hot air and raise engine temps flowing in.

By design it limits the air flow on stock hoods because it blocks the air coming in form the bottom.

SLP airlids are a great improvement over the stock POS. There is even a 104mm air lid but that's an over kill on stock motors.

The new revised lid is way better than the early first design.

There are no more fit issues or cracking when you install your MAF (as long you heat it up first)

My series 2 fits great and I have had no issues with it.

I have had no problems with my SLP lid. As a bonus, the stock Ram Air decal perfectly covered the SLP logo.

That would be my guess - he is referring to the SLP lid.

I have heard good things about ftp lids, but either way on ram air hoods they will rub a little bit.

thats what im wondering...didnt know they had a 1st and 2nd version...im assuming any SLP lid I buy now would be a V2? Any differences that I need to look for if I go with an SLP lid...?

Cant get over the look of the volant lid lol PLUS I tracked down some comparison dyno sheets ans volant is no slouch in that dept...
