Yep. The only downside is they don't increase in value that much even with all the custom work.

It's really not that bad in person. Plus it really helps with the wind on the long rides. But I prefer it without also myself.
It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

I logged some time on a trail 90 when I was younger. I wore out the grass in a loop around my folks' back yard Good times.

Is that your bike? Depends on what you like. Lots of options. I usually talk with the customer to see what they want and the overall goal for the bike - strictly show, barhopper, groundpounder, long cruiser, ect.. We can pretty much do anything and everything, for the right price.

I took my motorcycle test on a Honda 80.

They wouldn't let me use my Harley cause it didn't have turn signals or a horn. That little 80 made the test a breeze.

I used a Suzuki DL(?)110 for my MSF class/license test. One of the instructors yelled at me saying I was leaning to far for knobbies

I had two friends who used my Honda 650 I had to take their test one had a tricked out 67 Harley with no safety stuff and the other had a early AMF that leaked oil everywhere. They both passed the riding part but failed the written test! It was funny as shit. I had plenty of fun at their expense....

Is it a rigid? Motor? And most importantly, budget?

Those are a good start, but you'll need a lot more to be a show bike. The market is flooded right now with custom choppers and the like. Every show I'm at has at least a few dozen. The big wheel baggers are big right now too. Give it a year or two, and the trends will change. Cafe racers and bobbers are starting to come up. If you want a show bike that will always draw attention, one-off parts and paint like the Warrior, or extremely wild like one of my personal bikes - Franky, is the way to go. Pick a theme and build to that - flames, skulls, vintage, rat, ect..

The worst thing to do is throw a bunch of catalog or web mass produced parts on and try to hit shows. There are so many custom builds out there that there's no competing.

Customs seats are good, but depending on the distances you plan to ride, most won't offer much comfort. It's kind of a trade off.

In the past couple of years I've seen a couple of trail 125s come through auctions. I tried to buy them, but damn if those little things aren't worth a lot of money these days
