Anyone using electronic hearing protection?
I'm thinking about getting be some decent electronic earmuffs for the range. I do have to talk to students when I teach my classes. I do use glasses and eye protection for glasses so they have to be comfortable. I will appreciate some feedback on what you have and your experience with it or past products. Thanks.

..i haven't used them, but i'd suspect that it would be best to err on the side of the more expensive ones... my brother tried some cheap ones and they didn't last long... i think walker and howard leight have some good ones...

Depends on how nice you want them... they can get pricey. But I tell ya... they work like a champ. I haven't used them for shooting, but I got a nice demo with a set of Bose noise canceling muffs.

You definitely want a nice one when it comes to muffs!
I just used regular muffs. I don't go on a regular basis though. Interested to hear from someone that uses them at the range.Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
I've never owned a pair, but my uncles do, and I've worn them, they work like regular muffs, just a bit more extreme on both ends, you can still hear each other talk just fine, but really cuts back the loud stuff.
I don't know their brands or cost, but they were prob $120 or so

I have thought about these as well but it would really only work for pistols for me anyway. I can't shoot shoguns with ear muffs as they get in the way when I rest my face on the stock. I use ear plugs most of the time since I shoot shotguns the most. I did use a pair that I got from my dad which he received from his work. I thought they worked pretty well. I could hear people and the gun shots from the .40 were more than quiet enough.

Pewter- Y2K WS6
I absolutely love them when it's not hot out ... I have a set of fitted plugs and wear them most of the hot season... Indoors or in the winter I do foamies and turn the volume up on the ear protection.

Agree with you John on not to friendly with rifle or shotguns but great for pistol shooting.
The set I have I can also plug in an ipod too. I don't ever do that on a range, but if I'm running a mower I can hear it and not the mower noise
