LQ9 Swapped 1986 F150 Soon to come, wait what?
I will be taking my 1986 F150 5.0L I call Whiskey Tango and swapping in a LQ9 with a TH350. I have a set of Kooks 351w LT headers I'm cutting the flanges off and welding on a set of LS1 flanges. The LQ9 will get other cool upgrades but I will let the pictures explain when I take them. For now I will show you my truck so you can have a good laugh at the crazy that goes on in my head.

This should be interesting. Please post pics as you go. I know this swap can be done and by posting pics and coverage you will enable others to do the same. Good luck.

I like that it's ugly. It will keep people guessing when I go to the street races or to the track.

Not a huge update but here is a picture of the engine I just bought for my swap. I ended up going with a 5.3L because of the very low miles it had. I also bought a 4L60E for the truck but I don't have a picture of it yet. This set up will be getting a 76mm turbo after I get it in the truck and running.

Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
I can dig it. I kinda like the old fords, and that 5.3 should like a little boost thrown its way
If you do end up going turbo, i'd strongly recommend some upgrades to that tranny as well
Look forward to seeing more on the build

Will you be bringing this to Daytona for turkey rod run this year?

The project is moving along right now but will slow down when I pull the old ford motor out. I have to take all the wiring out, paint the engine bay, set up the mounts, fab the exhaust and route the GM harness for the 5.3L. I hope I can get it in for the TRR but I don't think I will make it. I was going to put it together without the turbo setup for now but I think I will finish it with the turbo kit so I'm not working over fresh paint.
