Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
While helping the head tech remove the intake manifold and valve covers on a 99 Lexus ES300 for a gasket swap, I hear my boss tell my coworker "YA KNOW WHAT YA DO? OPEN YOUR OVEN, STICK YOUR HEAD IN AND TURN THE GAS ON!" I looked at the head tech and he just shook his head smirking. I burst out laughing and asked my boss if I had heard what I thought I heard. He walked over and was laughing. We are all messed up at my job.

No, the .50 cal comment still takes the cake. I still laugh about that one.

I swear the timing of life events can be funny sometimes.
I may be adopting another "project" vehicle here in the next month or so. Timing depends on how long it takes the guy to clear the title. (Long story, not worth telling) It's his wife's 02' Trailblazer that is the 2 door model (supposedly very popular). Based on what she told me it's got at least a head gasket leak in it's 4.2 6 cyl. Not a problem for me to fix....if that's all it is. They have no desire to keep it (she has bad memories associated with it) so it's pretty much I pay for paper work and it's mine. Free is never free
So I have a few options with what I could do with it but my son brought this one up ( I thought of it first but didn't voice it aloud because of household 6 would blow a gasket if I said it at this time). He asked about dropping the LS1 from the Trans Am into it (after it's fixed) because I'm pretty certain I'm going to go ahead with the LQ build.
I had already checked into seeing if it's possible and YES it is, quite a few have thrown in 5.3's. The 4.6 shares the same engine mounts as LS1's/5.3's and it already has a 460LE that will fit on the LS1 too.
So ideas/comments?

2 door TB with a LS1? Sounds like a young TBSS in the making

Sounds like a good plan...just make sure the oil pan clears. That is the only roadblock I see in your future.

02 Trailblazer 2door with a 4.2? Sure it isn't the S10 platform with a 4.3?

Maybe I'm going off what she told me, I haven't look under the hood yet because they were out of town when I was looking at it. The body looks good. No puddles underneath. Only thing is that it's been sitting in the same spot for the last 18 months, he confirm the battery is toast.

Leave stock, fix it for the wife, sell the Jeep after its fixed...get rid of car payments and the Jeep hassle.

I still have payments left on it so Jeep is staying for another 18 months.

I have to say RockAuto is the sh#%. Order Jeep parts this morning and they have already shipped out an hour ago.
