To B(fh) or not to B(fh)
ok guys (or gals), i am going to buy C5 vette wheels, ive read about a thousand threads, links, articles, etc. what i wanna hear, is what size package you put on, and if u did or did not have to BFH the fenderwell. stock 1998 z28 camaro or similar car, anybody get the staggered set
17x11 rear and do 315's? did u have to beat it much? bump stop mod?
or anybody try a 295 on a 17x9.5 wheel rear with success and no fender beating?
i dont mind 'massaging' the fenderwell if i have to, but would obviously not wanna beat the crap out of my baby if i dont have to. let me hear your expiriences.....

I'm serious...cut the bumpstop and beat the fender well like it owes you money. I have a friend who is worried about resale value of his car if he does these two mods...no one will ever notice them.

Only unless you don't heat the area properly and crack the paint

IDK if this helps, but I run a 17x10.5 Torq Thrust M in the summer...with a P315/35ZR17 BFG Drag Radial. I didnt do anything to the fender and have had no problems.

Running the 315 on 10.5" rim is the same overall diameter as a stock 275 on a 9" rim...at 25.7 inches I think! So the speedo is not changed and no rubbing problems, keep in mind I have a stock suspension height!

I think the offset of the wheel has a lot to do with it as well.

ah yes definatly, all the sets at oe wheels im looking at have +56mm offset, i know this will play a big role in overall fit forgot to mention that. i think TT2's have less giving more room inside. thanks for the replies guys keep em coming! you all know how it is, always good to get advice from fellow F-body brothers before critical mods/purchases. dropping 1200 for wheels witout research isnt in my budget.

@ jayl
any replies help so thanks, and ive looked at those wheels and like them alot, they are my 2nd choice after the C5 vettes. i know the birds have slightly more room in the rear than camaros (from reading anyways) but still good info thanks.

I think your right about the birds having more room...the offset is going to be the biggest issue, good luck and post some pics after you decide!
