strange coolant leak
I have a feeling its the water pump, but I am hoping not since I just replaced it like 2-3 years ago. Basically, it leaks a little or a lot, and not all the time. Its the puddle mainly forms from around under the thermostat housing. This is some evidence of coolant up top, just beneath the throttle body as well. Dried coolant, and wet as well, depending. But for all i know its being flung up there. The leak is large enough to cause a decent sized puddle, yet small enough that I can't really tell where its dripping from. Any ideas? I'm going to borrow a pressure tester from a coworker when i go back after the new year, if I still havent figure it out. Its a 01 WS6, water pump was replaced within the last 2-3 years, same with t-stat.

Test the system and let us know what you find. Could be the thermostat gasket, loose thermostat housing or hose. Start small but be prepared for something big.

How about a leaking thermostat housing?

I am pushing at straws here, is there not a line or hose that carries coolant through the throttle body? Is it possible that it can be loose causing the leak?
I would appreciate it if anyone can comment on this.

Pressure test the system and stop guessing. Water will always follow a path downward so you need to see where it begins. Good luck.

I'm going to pick up the pressure tester next week when I go back to work. Its cold and snowing here now so I'm not driving it anyway.

Don't go overboard with the pressure tester -- you don't want to rupture something. Run it up to 10-12 lbs and see what happens. If you don't find anything after a bit, increase the pressure, but don't exceed 16 psi for the test.
