re-tune with 3500 stall?
i'm having a 3500 stall put in this week and was wondering if i need to send my computer back to frost to tune for it?
will it be ok without for awhile? only asking cause in amonth i'm having 3.73 gear installed..eibach sportline springs,kyb shocks and struts,adj. panhard,LCAs with relocation brackets,strut tower brace, sub-frame connectors,poly motor mounts, LT headers,magnaflo catback,ORY pipe, SLP lid w/K&N, ram air mod,egr delete,PP TB,1000CFM MAF housing, LS6 intake,160 T-stat, tune by frost

I went with a 3200 and drove around for 500 miles before getting it tuned. Car did fine but i never beat on it in that 500 mile period.

ok, i can get a deal on a new FTI billet 3800 stall converter 9.5 with an STR 2.5
is that too high for my car or just right?

I would wait until you have the gears in there but you will most likely need a tune with that stall. Your shift points will need to be adjusted.

You may also find a tune needed to desensitize the engine misfire tables when that converter is installed.
I found with my 3400 the computer thought the trans was slipping and would set off the engine misfire codes, then put the engine in limp mode thinking there was a problem.
I had to go back in the tune and lower the misfire tables a little at a time until it quite setting the code. Same thing happens when camshafts are installed. Some guys find they have to eliminate the misfire tables completely.

wait the converter i'm getting is a 2.15 STR 3800 stall full billet..
