We should have been at Jupiter in 2001, and a return trip in 2010.

And don't be surprised if you wake up one morning to the news that the Chinese have just launched one.

They don't seem to be quite so concerned about what everyone else thinks.

Question...was that a big ass facehugger that mounted the alien survivor at the end? The way it grabbed him and shoved the tube down his throat really looked like a hugger just 1000x bigger. If it is a hugger is that where the original Alien species from Weavers time came from? (Since the chest bursters also share the hosts DNA ala predator alien)

Theoretically it is a pre-evolved facehugger, just as the chestburster is a pre-evolved queen. It could be that the engineers developed the xeno's synthetically, but more likely they found and harnessed as their weapon along their journey across the universe.

Since the xeno's we've always seen have already taken the partial genetic identity from their hosts, I believe Ridley was trying to show us their purest form.

the answer (i didn't see the movie) would most like be that the alien that bursts out is a queen and lays eggs... when ripleys crew arrives they get the aliens -alien eggs...

Happy Father's Day to me. She found the anthology set for blu-ray. 50 bucks, not bad for 4 movies in original and director's cut, plus bonus content discs. Haven't seen the first alien since I was a kid.

Saw it yesterday, fathers day so the wife had to see it with me....haha. It was good, the huge white aliens were fucking bad ass and ripped as hell. But they were also dicks, ripped that dude in half without even a hello. I'd kinda like to see a part 2 with that chick going to their planet.

I'd also like to see those things go up aginst a clan of Predators, tie them all together in the next movie.

Finally saw it tonight and it was nothing short of outstanding and I will be adding it to my BluRay collection. Scott did a great job tieing this one into his original classic Alien.
