Well, I dont ever drink vinegar.. but I do use it with some oil for salad dressing. Good tasting and alot healthier than most any other dressing.

Yep sounds like habanero peppers. I grow them yearly. I cannot eat them whole, but I've seen many people just pop one in and eat it like candy! I'm like WTF!?!?!?
One small piece and my mouth burns for 25 minutes. I cook with them, use 'em whole. Just hope too many don't rupture, then Dad has to eat the whole batch of whatever was made.

The Bhut Jolokia (ghost chili) typically holds that honor, although there are a few in the same category claiming to be even hotter, although I dont know much about them: the naga viper and the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion.
Doing anything with any of these peppers is for all intents and purposes impractical. They're so hot that putting it in any food will make it more of an eating challenge than anything pleasurable, even for those who like hot food. I've never eaten a ghost chili directly, only some small tastes of sauce made with it. Painfully hot if you take in too much. And it is hot enough it will abolustely tear up any part of you it touches, inside or out. Your whole system would burn from one end to the other.Last edited by 5.0THIS; 05-27-2012 at 12:54 AM.

The Habaneros are sold around here in the local nurseries. You should be able to find them at most places that sell garden vegetable plants, and it's not too late to plant some.
I've never tried from seeds, maybe your idea would work but it's lte for this season. Mine start turning orange in late August/early September. These effing things are so hot, I'm usually waiting for the cops to show up around harvest time, since it's like they should be illegal!

I prefer the flavor a chili over a jalapeno or habanero. Habaneros smell like wolf pussy IMO.

When I cook with them whole, they add a nice roasty flavor.

I like Hungarian Hot Wax peppers
...I grow these in my garden - eat them raw, cooking with them removes the heat

^^^I love the peppers also. And, I guess I'm lucky since I've never felt the heat the next day, like I hear so many do.
