She's Got Measels
I'm getting ready to have the right rear quarter panel re done since the OL scraped it up against a brick wall sometime ago.
She jsut scraped the paint but at I went over the car, I saw the hideous little pimples they talk about on my roof rocker panel.
I read somewhere that these things were caused by the glue they used over the metal.
Should I go for it and have it done or just live with it.
They are real small and you have to look for them.
Still, I only have 500 deductable and I'm thinking of touching up anything else.

Light Pewter Metallic- 2001 Camaro SS
Odds are they will just come back. I replaced sail panel on my last car and you could see the bumps beginning to form again.

You'll need to replace the sail panel, and a different type of adhesive will need used to stop the problem.
If not they WILL come back again.

Hmmm, there must be a solution that has worked.
What kind of glue?
Do body shops know what to do?
These are questions I'm willing to get to the bottom of.Be who you are and say what you feel 'cause people who mind don't matter, and people who matter don't mind.'

The original stuff was whatever GM could get from the cheapest supplier.
Reputable body shops will likely know what and how to apply the right stuff.

6LE design makes a replacement panel for 450, only one i have been able to find since i have the same issue on my T/A. There has been some talk about recovering a panel off a 93-97 F-body due to a different glue being used that didn't blead through the paint. Not really a viable option though as recovering the panel is a pain in the @$$. Heat gun, wire saw and a lot of patience if you want to try.

You'll need to buy a new sail panel from 6LE and bring it to a bodyshop as GM doesn't make em anymore. I had mine redone about 8 years ago and the symptoms have not come back.

Light Pewter Metallic- y2k 8-cylinder catfish
I'm not sure if this is the same thing, but I recently noticed a very very tiny (what looks like a bubble) on the very bottom area of the sail panel on the drivers side and it pisses my OCD butt off.
