Smoking on start up!!!
So yesterday I put in my catch can from Elite Engineering....
Today I was backing out from somewhere and thought I saw a little smoke pass me as i backed out, but I wasn't sure, but then tonight I was backing out out of my friends driveway and definitely backed though a nice cloud...
Could this have something to do with my catch can or did I coincidentally screw something else up?
I've got people coming over so I couldn't really pop the hood and check it out when I got home

Check your install -- if that is the only thing you changed it might be the issue. Is it still metered vacuum pulling on the can, or is it an open hose, ie. full engine vacuum?

I no idea....there was a small section of vacuum hose that was coming out of the passenger side of the intake, right behind the TB, that I removed and replaced with the catch can....i used this diagram

i think i found my problem...i must have inadvertantly removed my PCV valve...on the above picture i can see it right below that small clear filter, mines completely gone...ill put it on.
i thought it was just a joining segment, i though the valve was further back, the way i initially set it up had the PCV valve before the catch can, and that just didnt fit right, so i removed it, again, not knowing that's what it was....
this piece

If you are missing the piece that is pictured under the clear filter in Post #4, that is probably your issue. The vacuum supply to the PCV system is metered by the size of the orifice in the valve. One of GM's attempted fixes was to decrease the size of the orifice so as to draw less oil into the intake.

so with no PCV its dumping a lot of oil into the intake?

Not dumping... technically it is sucking the oil through. Is your catch can full?

pulled it apart and the catch can was about half full, but the weird this was that the inside piece that holds the steel wool had come unscrewed and was sitting in the bottom of the can. Ive cranked it twice and so far no smoke

That was pulling bunches of oil then. I run the Elite Engineering setup on our car and the most I have ever had was maybe two tablespoons of oil. That is after running it at the track for 2 weekends, so lots of WOT.

yeah this was half full after about 3 miles, lol..
I noticed just a little smoke this morning but im sure itll take a few cycles to clean out what already got sucked in....wish i could spray in a little starter fluid to help break up the oil, lol

There was probably already a film of oil and grunge coating your intake's innards from the stock PCV system.
