hunger games
Just got back from the drive-in...it's pretty good. I wish it wasn't rated pg-13 but hey got to let those twilight fans in right? There's some killing and what not but not much blood/gore. Looking forward to the next one though.

Its a teen book so cant really expect them to go all out with the gore and blood if they want their core audience to see it. But yeah alot of people and reviewers said they toned it down too much to make it pg-13 compared to the books. I think we sold 10xs as many books this week for hunger games as we normally do. If nothing else the movie is driving our sales too. The mall/security and cops stopped by my store at one point to remove some unsavorables so I sat their for a min and talked to them and they said the theatre in our complex was crazy. Most people they had ever seen their at once. Needless to say they werent looking forward to their night.

If you wanna see some bloody killings check out Battle Royale. Just released state side but came out in Japan in 2001. Same kind of concept as Hunger Games.

Here has to be the best review and summary I've seen of the "film" and book.
Amazing, considering he did not see the movie (he couldn't get a ticket opening night - sold out) and he's a priest!

Wow, I thought that Jennifer Lawrence was jail bait.
But, Jennifer Lawrence is 21!

Born: Jennifer Shrader Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence looks much younger than Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift wrote and sang some songs for the movie. Jennifer Lawrence is ~9 months younger than Taylor Swift.

IMHO, the two aren't even close! That's like saying that Hunger Games is like Harry Potter.
LMAO!
Did you bother to take ~2mins and watch the video clip that I posted the link to?? If not, then you clearly are just talking based on the quick BS sound-bites you hear on TV.
That video clip is really the most concise and accurate review of the book (and hence movie). IMHO, most of the other reviews, and most of the other media, are more interested in getting good sound-bites.
Then, there are the ton of articles warning parents that the movie is likely too intense for pre-teens. Which, may be true for a number of reasons.

I have seen much more about the movie PRIOR to your post so dont flatter yourself with it being the end all of information.
You think EVERYTHING from the book is in the movie? A lot of people who review it say they missed some things, which is fine and understandable. But dont make it out like its page for page.
I didnt say Harry Potter. How the fuck is Harry Potter like Twilight? This is more torwards those who like Twilight and NOT Harry Potter.
This IS aimed at women and teens....and younger men who rub lotion on their hands twice a day.

Like I said in my first post, it seems made so even teens can see it which makes sense for a trilogy. Just because the lead actor is a chic doesn't mean it's made for them.
You sure mention twilight a lot kinda makes me wonder bro...feels like you're projecting your own love/shame of it onto other people.
The woman that wrote the books helped direct and produce the movies. So i'm pretty sure she knows the story and what should and shouldn't be in the movies.
I rub lotion on my hands twice a day but not for the softness
