When Racing Cobra's, have your FACTS STRAIGHT!!
Someone said they raced an '00 Cobra. There were no '00 Cobra's, except for the '00 Cobra R. I am going to add this breakdown and I would appreciate everyone's opinion. Don't hesitate to disagree, or agree!
93 Cobra, only FOX-body COBRA, (COLLECTOR's ITEM)
93 Cobra R, only like 107 made (ULTRA-SUPER RARE)
94-95 Cobra's, slow pigs
95 Cobra R 5.8L 300 HP/365TQ (only 250 made, ULTRA-RARE, 13.8 1/4 mile)
96-98 Cobra's, 1st year DOHC, need gears and full bolt-ons to be NASTY
99 Cobra kinda NASTY
00 Cobra R, 5.4L DOHC 385HP/385TQ (only 300 made, ULTRA-RARE, REAL FUCK*N NASTY)
01 Cobra pretty NASTY
03-04 Cobra REAL FUCK*N NASTY
07 Shelby GT500 Cobra, promises to be REAL FUCK*N SUPER NASTY
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

ok i have a few things to add...
5.0 cobras are nothing... like maybe 235 hp stock
4.6's start to get a lil iffy... 99 and 01 cobras with slight mods will surprise the hell out of you... and a stock one can run an ls1 with a good driver... and just adding a supercharger to these things makes them super scary... so watch out for the whine...
03-04 cobras... kiss your ass goodbye... with out a nicely modded ls1 you wont even run a stock one.... and with about $1000 you can up the hp on a term cobra by about 50 hp...
the 00 cobra r... really not that nasty in a drag race, but deffinately not what it was built for... try to take one on a hiway or road course and watch your ass get handed to you.
and dont forget about 03-04 mach 1's... watch out for one unless your modded... pretty much a drivers race on this one...
and you ppl need to learn to identify cobras... i mainly see ppl get term and new edge ones mixed up... they look completely different... the hoods are different... the front and rear bumpers are different... and one whines fran dresher...

link didnt work for me, but if its for real... BUY IT!!!! it would be one of like 3... there was a rumor of a comemorative gold in 00... but they never made it because of the issues with the underpowered 99's... supposadly like 4 made it out through big wigs in the company... i have seen pics of one that was supposed to be real, but we all know how supposed to be works...

96-98 Cobras I think are under rated. Aside from the 90% of my friends who drive 95 Cobra's, one drives a 96 Cobra. This thing is pretty nuts. All it has is a CAI, Exhaust, and short shifter, but the car screams. I agree that they are in need of gears badly. His has the stock gears, but he plans on getting 4:10s for it this summer. It's going to be a fast car, no doubt. Many people argue that 96 was the worst year saying it isn't durable, but I disagree saying that it's pretty fast.1995 Camaro Z-28

I used to work at the ford dealership till i quite and now work for an insurance company... well the ford dealershit, when i was working has 1 COBRA R... i wanted to steal the bitch! it isn't for sale, and has a Ford GT! Isn't for sale it is the owners cars! They are 2 bitchen cars but yes, the cobra r's aren't drag racing cars... they are road racing why do you think they didn't come with stereos and shit? they are hella fast though ... on the other hand there is the punk ass kid who has a 94-95 cobra... I think has full exhaust and intake... he pulled hella on me throughout all of 1st... then some of 2nd... but once i hit 3rd... hehe he got a mouth full of LS1! But yes they are cool once you do some modds... But you gotta give us credit... once you put a couple g's into our engines... he are snake eaters! Cobras and Vipers... Get what i mean??

The only Cobra's made in 2000 were 250 Cobra R's. A friend of mine has one and it is a scary fast car around corners but wouldn't stand a chance against an ls1 or a silver foxbody at a drag strip. lol.

You are correct on the numbers for the Cobra R's, sorry for the confusion. The 00' R I drove was real fun on the interstate and in the mountains though. I think they were rated at 385 hp, they have a 5.4 in them.
