Check out my performance lamp lol

My wife made me this lamp. Its the old cam out of my Camaro, the sprocket is a timing gear off an old Camaro, and the legs are wrenches. It was all her idea, her dad welded it for her. It came out great, love this lamp. Never thought I'd say that lol.

How is the cord run up the cam? Was it drilled out?

And yeah that was cool of your wife to do that.

No drilling, there's a hole all the way through the cam and thats where the cord runs. It was very cool of her, I was so suprised with it.

That actually looks pretty simple to make if you have the parts. It's very cool. Sometimes the simplest ideas are some of the best. Cam is just about the right height too, IMO.

I made a lamp out of a coke can once and the base was a large "M" made out of wood for my last initial. I made it in shop class in 8th grade. Actually still have it. This thread reminded me of it. I'd have to search for it though.

Cool, now get an LS block and make a coffee table. That is my plan anyway. I also plan to use a carb on it with an air cleaner as a candy dish.

I've seen these before and have always meant to get around to it.....I pretty much have all the parts already. Might need the gear....might've tossed mine. One of these days I'll get on it and make it.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. No she wasnt standing beside me when I posted this haha, but I really do love lamp. Thats a good idea to spray paint "LS1" or something on the side. Its heavy enough I actually could use it as a club to beat someone's ass lol. Yes, its the coolest lamp right next to the leg lamp from "A Christmas Story" lol. Its the perfect hight on the table beside the couch too.
