Your prefered exhaust setup. Share what you got!
Hey everyone!
I'm sure you've all seen hundreds of topics about exhaust set ups, but I thought it'd be fun to bring it all back in 2012 and see what you guys have, have newly done, and what you suggest for an awesome setup! i have a Borla cat-back setup on my LS1, it's mean and growls like a lion but isn't nearly loud enough. So everyone here who'd like to, tell me your setup and how you like it!
And maybe what you suggest I do for a meaner louder setup without spending a few thousand haha
So share the love for loud LS1!

if you want loud get a e-cut out , to keep it some what legal then SLP LM 1 or 2's that will wake the neighbors up
My setup is Pacesetter LT's ceramic coated with TSP ORY and a Magnaflow muffler. Almost stock sound at idle, a nice rumble in the 2-3k range and then it just roars at WOT.
Next on the list is a E-cutout from QTP
Here's a couple of clips of mine

red- 2002 ws6
American racinng has very good headers, especially when the fitment is as tight as it is on our cars. Ive got these with their ory, into a lm2 sounds great no ground clearence issues but my bros lt1 has borla and it sounds mean. If you want cheap and loud hack your cat.

Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
My old TA has LTs an ory and a magnaflow and i loved it. Great around the neighborhood and growled when i wanted it to. Not the loudest but real nice tone.
The SS has LTs an ory and a GMMG and it sounds mean, a little rasp but sounds real good and people know i'm coming.
If you want stupid loud then i suggest this, LTs through an xpipe to flowmaster single chambers. Sounds badass imo

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
I have 1 3/4" SLP coated LTH with SLP cats, 3" ORY into SLP muffler and CME. I would like a little more rasp without going overboard. Any ideas ?

Never heard of anybody wanting more rasp but you could remove the cats
and ORY means off-road ypipe meaning no cats by the way

Bat mobile black- 2000 Trans am WS6 M6
I run LTs ORY and a Magnaflow catback along with a single DMH Cutout. Magnaflow sounds beautiful and its not too loud under 2500 rpms. The Cutout though is almost as loud as open headers and doesnt sound bad at all.

tatertot91 that sounds incredibly NASTY like all hell is breaking loose that's the result from LTs through an xpipe to flowmaster single chambers? Cats or no cats?

Those are some pretty awesome setups, i wish i had the money to even bother trying them. All I can afford is a homemade straight pipe to replace where the muffler goes (which i still use from time to time, but the interior drone is just so bad i can only stand it for so long. Its too bad cause i love the sound it gives)

Kooks 1 3/4 long tube headers, custom 3.5" off road y pipe, corsa cat back with electronic dump out before the rear axle. All stainless. I am thinking about taming it down a bit for the street though.

Kooks 1-7/8" LT's, Kooks catted Y, Magnaflow P/N 16723 catback and a DMH cutout. Nice deep tone that turns to thunder when I open the cutout.
