Brake job help
Hello All,
Thanks in advance for your help and pardon my ignorance...
I recently did a brake job on my 1998 Z28 and am wondering how freely should the front tires spin? Mine don't spin freely at all (much less than 1 rotation if I give it a good spin). I used a c-clamp to compress the pistons all the way when I re-installed everything and the brake fluid is at its proper level so I'm not sure what I can do... Is this a problem and if so how do you correct?
The car has Baer brakes including their large, 2 piston calipers.
Thanks!

sometimes they'll do this until you drive them and they adjust.....have you driven the car yet? Might take it for a spin and then re-check them.

Did you clean and re-lube the caliper pins (I assume the Baer brakes have them)?

I had this just happen to me and it was a seized caliper pin. It's such an easy thing to do but for some reason most mechanics just skip it.

Did you took the master cylinder cap off when you were compressing the calipers with the c clamp? If not take the master cylinder cap off, add fluid if needed and put it back. when you compress the calipers back the pressure from the hydralic fluid goes back to the resevoir and creates additional pressure if you don't vent it out. You can even damge the master cylinder seals. Give this a try before you do anything

Jay beat me to it. I had the same problem and like Jay said I forgot to open the master. Once I did and press the break a couple of times everything returned to normal.
