To the other, The Buick GN has been listed as one of Buicks few Muscle cars for more than 20 years now..
Reguardless of what someone "considers" it to be out of personal opinion..
Superchargers and turbo's have been around for more than 80 years, so, the argument that this or that is not something or does'nt count because it's not N/A has long been without merit..
Just as the V6 argument is..
Last I checked FI dominated drag racing... Nuff said...
Even the earliest Corvette was powered by none other than a "blue flame" I6..
Definition of a "Muscle car" as per webster: "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving"
Muscle car - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary
Just as people have their opinions, so too, do people sometimes disagree with those opinions..
The point is there's no sense in acting like an ass-hat because people strongly disagree with your opinions or comments..Last edited by Smittro; 10-31-2011 at 03:34 AM. Reason: changed Buick "GM" to "GN"

3.6 it is. Apparently, this is something that the Dodge boys have been working on for quite a while.

Good point and I also agree since I hate 4-cylinders..
But as for the Buick GN, it has been listed as a muscle car for more than 20 years as I stated b4..
I don't think I have ever seen a Cobalt listed as such..
Also, it's listed as a compact, whereas Muscle cars are usually larger cars, or what was considered "mid-sized"...
We've rented Cobalts b4, and I have to say, IMHO, they are cheap junk, just as the loaner Aveo we had a couple of weeks ago was..
My wifes old 96 Z24 with the quad-4 5spd was a far nicer car inside then both the Aveo, and Cobalt..
But I still give respect if and where it's due..Last edited by Smittro; 10-31-2011 at 11:34 AM.

Light Pewter- 2002 Camaro SS
The universally accepted meaning of muscle car is a era , not open to debate, ran from 1967-1972 and some then argue 1965 because the GTO and the launch of the Mustang pony car had heated up the battle that started it all.
The launch of the emissions era downfall to h.p. began to take its toll in 1972.

Definetly open for debate..
It's also universally accepted that since the "early era" of muscle cars began, that many cars have since born the label, "Muscle Car"..
More likely the lack of technology served to dampen NOT end the era, as the fuel crisis heated up, octane levels droppped, and leaded gasoline was removed from use..
Someone stating that the supposed "era" has ended is meaningless as manufacturers have never conceeded this to be true.
Reguardless of what TV, or a bunch of beer drinkers stuck in the stories of the good old days may have some believe..
The Muscle Car still lives as the tech has been long inplace to overcome the imposed fuel limitations and emissions limits..
Sure it can be debated that the "era" started in 65/67 but ended??
Hardly..........Last edited by Smittro; 11-01-2011 at 02:16 AM.
