There was a 75 automatic Corvette at the track the other day, guy was asking $4,500. It wasnt that bad and wasnt that great. It was all there, sounded pretty decent for all 170-ish hp. lol Interior was ratty but all there.

You know what they say about a Vette? A Vette gets tehm _ _ _.

Glad you got your pup back as well, Jodi. Glad he is ok.

Thank you Dan. I'm glad he's home to. Scared me.

As for the Vette, I still don't know if she will get one, but they ares still pretty cheap here in Oklahoma.

Dogs are just like the rest of the family.....other than if they make a mess on the floor you really dont mind cleaning it up.

When I was a kid I wanted a Conquest or a Starion and I still do! Would love a SBC in one of those.

I was sorta in the same situation with my niece. I've been raising her for the last 3.5 yrs so she has become a daughter to us. She would always be the first to volunteer to help me with cars and try to learn how to fix them. She even help me do a clutch swap twice on the T/A. So I told her once she gets her license and drives for a while I'll teach her how to drive a manual and let her take the bird out (with me) for a spin. Few months later I do so. She got a car that had a manual so by this time she could drive very well. In a huge parking lot with no curbs or other stuff to hit she tries to drive. After a few attempts to get use to the t/a clutch she thinks she has it. So she does a high rev clutch dump......does a 30 ft burn out and stops. Get's out of the car and says I'm done. Your car has to much power for me to handle it and I'm to damn scare I'll wreck it. I'll try another day when I'm ready.

Now my son has his license and even knows how to drive a manual (using my niece's car). Even he doesn't want to drive it yet.

And it is sad that Vettes get cheaper insurance then our cars do. I asked my broker and he said it's because the typical Vette owner keeps it low mileage, is in his mid 40's to 50's, has other cars for DD, and doesn't wreak 'em. Where as the typical Camaro/Trans Am/Mustang driver is male, 20-30's, get's multiple speeding tickets, is highly likely to get into an accident at some point in ownership, usually within 6 months of purchase for both speeding tickets or accident or both at same time.

My 65 is an auto. I know she could drive it, but it will scare her. My concern really is the old crappy brakes. Thats the one thing I never updated.

Aside from the Vette, my other two options are my grandfathers 98 dodge swb truck. Low miles and grandpa took care of it. Or a 70's ford truck swb. With either classic, it would be hers, she could make it her own, be unique, and have it forever. But grandpa's truck is a dime a dozen, sucks gas and I really don't think theres a way to make it cool. At least with the ford truck I could stick a fuel injected 5.0 in it fairly cheap, then it would be reliable and simple to make go fast later if she chooses.

I just dont know. I really want to do the vette.

I still pick a truck over the vette for her. I firmly believe teen drivers need a tank to drive around in over a sports car, especially when compared to classic muscle cars. The Ford (for some strange reason I always get a foul taste in my mouth when Ford is spoken) has more options for you and her then look at that. Any "old" car is going to be a gas guzzler unless it is a 80's Japanese 4 banger. For the record stay far away from Cavilers - I spend more time fixing that POS (niece car) then working on my cars.

Been stuck at the Courthouse since 9:30 this morning. Still have at least another hour or two before I can head back to the office. Ugh.

From there... tumbling tumbling down like a tumbling weed trying to get away from a leaf blower. Stressful day. On the plus side, plenty of time to turn around.... on the neg. side, it does not promise to. /sigh

Why would anyone do that? Can't look out of the back windows without worrying about how she must have felt...even him. Head down day.

I really want to get her the old ford. It already fits her personality already. I just can't get the owner to call me back.

No calivers, grand am's cobalts, etc...throw away cars. Actually a couple teenager girls in the area lost their lives in cavaliers in seperate accidents. So thats a hell no.

Then my kid wants nothing to do with trans am's, camaro's, and mustangs.

    Heres that truck.

My son did that when doing a jump spin 360* kick. he was on crutches for a week and a soft brace for 2 weeks.

Ice & heat packs will help the swelling go down faster.

Tell him to stop watching Glee.....unless he speaks with a lisp those twirls are impossible. j/k Being a kid just make sure he stays off it and let it heal. Kids are quick to get back in to things and not take it easy long enough.
