A4 with 4.11s
Any of you guys out there running a 4.11 gear ratio with a 4L60E?
Im looking to upgrade my rear and im just not sure what ratio to go with. My first though was 4.11s, but im not sure if it will be shifting into 4th gear at the drag strip or not. Any help would be great, thanks!

I like the 3.73 ratio for DD/Performance. Have you already done a stall?

Yes, I have a stall. Yank 3600 with mods in Sig. I only put around 2000 miles on it a year and it sees the track 1 or 2 times a month.

standard gear upgrade for an Auto is 3.73. If you want a little more low end pull, you can do 3.90's which are a little rare. I put 3.90's in mine, I love them and it's still fine for a daily driver. I would say at the track though... I now need slicks to really take advantage of them. My Nitto drag radials tend to have little grip with the gears. But I'm not ready to break the rear yet with slicks.

I have be thinking about the 3.90s as an option too. I have weld prostars with mickey Thompsons for the track and they are great for the track but the 10 bolt couldn't hold up to them. Lol

That's my fear too. With my luck, I'd break the axle on my first run with slicks. I'll wait till I have the $3k for an axle before I try them.

666 -- what's your rpm at the top of the track with the 3.90's?

Good question Jeff, that's really what I want to know.

411's would be way much for a 60 with a 3600 stall imo. I have done a few 3.90 and even 3.73 with that stall. i can honestly say i would not go as high as a 4.11 i would prob stick with a 3.73 jmo.

It says on the calculater that my rpm would be around 5700 with 4.11s, that's where paJeff02's is when he crosses the traps and he has 3.73s. So I don't think those calculators are to accurate.

4.11's would be doable depending on the cam and stall... if you're stock i'd say 3.73 because they've been tested and true... the axles aren't the part i'd worry about breaking... its' the actual gears that are the weakest part... if you worry about the stockers breaking then you'll worry more about 3.73s or 4.11's breaking...

Well the gears will be going in a strange 12 bolt when I order it at the end of the month.
