Sewing machine noise, Throwing O2 codes

ok so the auto zone tech says that my fuel trims are pretty wacky and im throwing a o2 code like 400 series
I have no modes execpt K&N air breather, and the motor runs fine.
The question i have is I hear a clicking noise on the left side of my engine no matter if its cold or warm you have to know what you are listing for in order to hear it but 1400-2000 RPM it is noticable. I am aware of the rocker arms needle bearings going bad and LS1 engine noise
Could it be a Injectior???? how would i check it
    Please HELP

If you have a K&N air breather is it on your valve cover in place of the PCV system? Do you still have a PCV Valve? You may just have a large vacuum leak. Just thinking I may be way off.

yea the PCV is still there, would a vacuum leak cause a tick?

Vacuum leaks will typically cause a fluctuation in your idle, and cause it to run high on most occasions. I have hunted down two on my car. They did not cause the tick on mine. I have normal ticks that have been around since I bought the car (probably piston slap), and then I have a louder tick when I have an exhaust leak (for me because I have headers, even Stage 8 bolts back out a bit on me )

I would guess your o2 code is probably stemming from a bad o2 sensor (the obvious solution) OR a bad catalytic converter (VERY typical on our cars). Not sure if that would cause your ticking though. If so though, I would guess it's the one on the same side as your noise. It's too bad your car is a 2000 like mine, you don't qualify for the 10 year 120,000 mile extended warranty on the cats

I use Amsoil, can't get it off the shelf though. Gotta order online or find a local dealer.

Pennzoil platinum is about the best off the shelf stuff you can get. We have a thread dedicated to oil testing and such, I'll put up a link when I find it.

This thread is huge, but you can skim through and get some info.

The last I had heard, it was between Schaeffer's (sp) and Amsoil at the top, and Pennzoil Platinum was best off the shelf.

I run schaeffers 7000 10w-30. My car at start up is quieter with that than Mobile 1 10w-30.
