Hole in my header, anyone else resolved this problem??
To start off, I hate AIR and EGR, royally piss me off. Any ways i just bought my car 2 weeks ago and get home with it and and the AIR tube that welds to my passenger side header breaks off. So im left with a hole in my header. My other is AIR tube on the driver side is fixing to give way as well. Anyone ran into this problem? I have Hooker LT super comps made of steel so they are pretty rusty. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the hole...

Yikes! That is a mes. You'll need to clean all the gunk off the pipe and then attempt to re-weld it. Are you removing the AIR system? And what is all the gunk anyway?

Its thermo steel, i attempted to patch the hole with it but it didnt work, after further thought im just gunna buy new stainless headers, these are rusted to hell. But yes i will be removing the AIR system along with my EGR and have frost tune all that crap out.

for now if you aren't planning on reinstalling the AIR system try and clean it up and have it welded shut, thats nasty looking

Grind it down and break the welder out, no big deal.

This happens to alot of headers with air fittings. Had the EGR pipe break off my header last year so I cut off the air pipe on that side and patched them both up. Personally, I'd swap those rusty old things.
