Is amsoil worth it?

My Jeep takes 8 quarts of oil.......most of the time I run 5 qts of the clean 5,000 and then 3 quarts of the synthetic. At 5k miles it gets changed. Almost all of the miles are back and forth to school so its 70ish miles each day round trip and nothing else.

I have used Mobil 1 and the PP as well as some other stuff in my LS1s and LT1s and havent had any burn more than the others. I do think that it runs smoothest with the PP and its a close 2nd with the M1, the other stuff I "think" I can tell but its probably just in my head.

Anyone run the ole Golden Spectro in anything? haha

Do you ever do more than just read what the book says? Hell I have even found typos in my GTO booklet and even a few gun booklets. I realize it says to put in 7. Here is the deal, it even has "8 qts oil" written in yellow paint market under the hood. I put 7 in and its below the bottom of the fill line on the dip stick. 7.5 is in the lower half of it and 8 is 3/4th the way up the fill line.

Thanks for your mechanic advice but I will stick with 8. My fathers Hemi Durango takes 7.5 to get to the center of the fill-line.
