I have a 6.0L motor and went with a torquer v2 cam.....it drives great on the street, pulls hard, but I have not taken it to the track yet. I need 3.73s and a dyno tune first.

no one mentioned Patriot Heads, are they no good or what?

i have them and to date, not a single issue with them.
they appear to be hit and miss with others. Patriot, just like Comp had a bad batch of heads and everyone under the sun jumped on the bandwagon to dog them. even people with no experience with them or used in their set-ups. so the masses say they are a 'miss', but my personal experience shows that not to be the case.
i got mine for $900 new back in Jan. 2007 from a member off here. i couldn't justify spending $1000+ for 'name brand' heads that would yield similar results.
dont be surprised is this turns into a pissing match over what brand is the best. i hope it doesn't...

I don't have any experience with stage III heads. Mine are stage II for stock cube displacement. Luos mght be able to chime in. I believe he may of had stage III heads at one point on his car.

i asked a few engine shops around and a couple of LS builders and was told the 64 cc chambers would boost my compression and the Stage 3 was better for the LQ4 i have, if i had a LQ9 they recommended a Stage 2 head, these being an LS2/LS6 design. that was mentioned more than going with a 5.3 stage 2.5 head, but thats just recommendations for my set up on the LQ4.

MAF would be a must in a good heads and cam setup. The stock one will choke the air flow.
In my opinion this is the best you are gonna get.
AFR 245 heads
Fast 102 intake and TB
A Big Cam ie T-rex ms4 Polluter or a custom
You are going to need 42lbs injectors
Ls7 lifters
Hardened pushrods
Ls2 Chain
I would upgrade your rod bolts and would recommend at least a .660 spring
I might be forgetting some stuff but with those heads and intake you wont go wrong with any donkey dick cam.

Backwards...spec your cam to your heads...that way you don't have a donkey Dick cam with hogged out heads that doesn't make power until its past 4k rpm. First thing any cam specialist asks is what heads you are running, that's a sign.
Stock suspension sucks, period. Upgrade even of you don't have any HP mods.
Stock drivetrain sucks, if manual replace clutch immediately and any FBody owner should have a savings fund for when the 10 bolt snaps....modded or stock.Last edited by '02 WS6; 08-03-2011 at 05:40 AM.
'02 ws6.....mods? nope
