oil leak update...
so im sure this is like my 15th post about my leaks....well heres were im at. in the past year ive replaced valve covers, valley cover 3 times, OPSU, oil cooler block off, just did a oil pan gasket two days ago....still leaking. i replaced the rear main over a year ago, and when the leak continued, i did every other gasket i could think of. i just had the tranny built in November, so while it was out, the shop did my rear main for me again, since they said it leaked....well, i was still leaking when i got her home, so the only thing that was left was the oil pan, which i just did. yup, im still leaking, and it looks 95% like a rear main or rear cover....so im going to change it again for the third time....but im doing it so i know its done right. am i missing any other gaskets near the back/rear of the motor that i should replace??
oh, and the valley cover and OPSU did fix one of the leaks, so it wasnt worthless...im hoping my new PCV setup will keep my gaskets from blowing anymore!

i personally use 10/30 and have a oil catch can with the revised pcv valve...no oil leaks yet (knock on wood), and ive got about 114,000 miles on the car, but i would love to get a LS6 intake manifold and do that valley cover tray mod

motor wise....not much. LS6 intake and injectors, ported TB, SLP ram air, fuel rails W/ braided lines, long tube headers, full exhaust, EGR/AIR delete, a/c delete, tune by frost....i think thats it for motor.

Your best bet instead of "guessing" is to fully clean the motor and all oil off the underside and let it run awhile after having it cleaned. DO NOT DRIVE IT AROUND after cleaning it as the oil is just going to blow all over the place again. Leave it parked (if you can).
This is the only way you'll find where the leak is coming from IMO. You have to trace it.

I tried that a while ago, it wouldn't leak, motor had to be under a load. I will try it again before dropping the tranny, just incase I can verify were its coming from.
LS1, SLP lid, SLP MAF, bilstein HP shocks, SLP longtube/tuned headers and loudmouth exhaust, built 4L60E w/ transgo shift kit, true ram air, ported TB, LS6 intake, LS6 PCV w/ catch can, FAST fuel rails, LCRB, sub-frame connectors, wide-band O2.

You could try putting a dye in the oil and then tracing it back with a blacklight. Throwing parts at it is only gonna cost you more money and likely still leak.

I tried that...didn't work out so well.

How did the dye not work? Is it possible you overtightened the pan bolts and squeezed out the gasket?

The leak got to spread out after I cleaned it and ran it to get it warm. Was to hard to pinpoint a location. And I torqued all pan bolts to specs.

I would try the dye again but instead of driving it just rev the motor in park or neutral or jack up the rear and pseudo-drive it, a lift would be better if you have access, while the wheels are off the ground.

At the rate you're going, it may be cheaper to just replace the engine

well, I'm chasing a leak, and think its the opsu, and my leak mimics yours. It leaks sitting still, but more so under a load. Any update on where you are at in regards to your leak?

Been my experience they like to leak from the bottom two corners of the front cover. You're supposed to use permatrex there. I like to let it dry for a day or two after sealing it all up before starting it. This fixed my leaks.
