ASR = Anti-slip regulation
Works the same as TCS basically.

Most people don't like TCS because it makes the car in control, not you. When TCS kicks in, it also pulls fuel, which is really causing a lean condition. Same when you hit the rev limiter. The PCM pulls fuel to slow the car down.
I think it's nice to have while driving in "wet" conditions, other than that, I think it's useless.

Ah ok. So what is wrong with it? I think it worked great when I had to drive on the ice this past winter.
Edit.....
Ok. When that father and daughter team on bull run I'm the red TA won, I remember them having issues with it during some challenges.
Still great for ice. LolLast edited by jrbonds; 07-27-2011 at 05:51 AM.

but... that isn't quite how it works in our cars... the TCS stops you from pressing down the gas pedal... i don't think it even slows the fuel jsut the pedal...even in wet i dont' have problems... i'm not going to mach the go pedal at 1-60+ mph in wet conditions because i know i'll spin tire... starting off at a red light isn't much of a problem either...

Mine has ASR and the damn pedal goes to the floor. Slows your 1/4 mile times by about .3 seconds! lol

yeah... my weekend planned itself for me... i was going to say "nope.. can't make it" and then show up for the fun... now i really can't... i guess this is the reason people rent homes/apartments that cost as much as a mortgage to rent... so they don't have to deal with shit when it breaks...
on a side note... the AC is ice fuggin cold again!!!

Pretty sure it applies brake pressure and retards fuel. I've never had the pedal issue. Maybe your car is special like that birthday cake you made

ASR is what my Corvette had as well and honestly I like it better than the TCS my GTO had. Like Spaz said, the pedal feels strange.

Only time I use TC is in rain or snow. With the Harrop, the rear hardly squats and gets twitchy as hell in the wet.
