Shit brown- 1985 Chevy S10
2002 Z06 vs 83 S10
Well I was out hitting the streets for the first time this year, Fresh tune and timing and everything seemed to be running very well.
Before story here are the mods
S10
Small Block Chevy 385Ci
Alum Heads
Intake
650 dp Holly
Mutha Thumpa Cam
11:1 Comp
700r4 tranny
4:11 posi Stick S10 rear end
125 Shot of Nos (track only)
Z06
Cat Back Exhaust
Cold air setup?
56,000 Miles 6 Speed Man
Okay so I was hitting the street when I was stopped at a street light turning left, I made eye contact with this guy driving his Z06. He was turning right headed the same direction as me so he slowed down and waited for me to turn and catch up. Nice guy, asked if I wanted to run'em and I said sure! We were doing roughly 30 mph so I dropped it into 2nd so my rpms were at about 3k and some change maybe he honked 3 times and we took off. it was pretty even till i hit third and I started pulling about a car. We let off once I started pulling maybe doing 80mph. We slow down again and says we should start slower so he can launch in first. So we slow down I drop into first at about 4k rpms and he honks 3 time and we take off, I slip a little on the take off but once I was hitting second working my way towards 3rd he was a good 3 cars behind. Enough story we did a launch in 3rd so about 50 mph and I was about 1 1/2 cars ahead by the end
All of this was with no spray. Talked to the guy for a few after the runs. nice guy still working on some more bolt ons for it but still no chance once I spray haha

Most may think "BS" but hey thats there lose lol. I run 2650lbs race weight with me in the truck. I ran 11.55 at 126.4 with NOS in 2nd and 3rd gear. I run from foot brake.
I just moved down from Idaho down to Weatherford Texas =) so all that call "BS" better hope you don't find me on the streets or the drag strip haha =)

This particular calculator suggests ~350 to the wheel on juice, however, you didn't hit it until 2nd & 3rd gear. It shouldn't be 'too' far off. Your trap speed indicates you didn't hit until 2nd as well.
(I used 2,700 lbs & 350 whp to get ~11.50 1/4 mile ET)

I run all motor runs at 11.9 at 114 mph. Idk the calcultors are a cool tool to get close but I should be making 350 all motor, or atleast i would hope lol. if not i feel like a honda becasue im built head to toe lol

I know of several local S10's that I will not play with. Many many people have gone to modding the S10's. You can get a S10 for cheap and then put all the money in the motor and the rear..

Yeah I bought the truck when I was 17 and put a junk yard 350 in it and was able to get in down to the low 13's. really cheap and really simple lol. No cutting and grinding to put the motor in. Im about 9k into my build and run 11.5s in the 1/4. I'm going to pull the distributor today and lock it out so there is no curve. I need full advance instantly I think, I'm alittle sluggish untill 3k rpms when im at full.
