oil pressure problem
i have a 02 pick up with 4.8 62,000 miles. oil pressure going down road 40 psi. but noticed other day when stopped at red light(foot on brake in gear) prussure fluxuates i little 35 to 40. oil level good no gas or antifreeze in oil. only 1500 miles on oil change. where do i start to look?

not sure if a problem?? my guage regularly reads around 40, and oftentimes goes less when the engine has been run on the highway warmed up.. plus i don't think hte guages are that accurate to begin w/..

Mine varies as well. The stock guages are not that accurate. You could install an aftermarket one to verify that the pressure is where it should be. At an idle it will be lower than when driving.

i dont see a problem. under load oil pressure increase, and at idle will drop/fluxuate some. as long as its nothing drastic or sudden (say from 55-20), i wouldn't worry.
