I did a wiki search and it the lastest version of HULK. Long story short. All the super heroes deemed Hulk to be too powerful and too unstable so they shot him into space. He lands on some other planet were he is enslaved and goes through the whole gladiator trials thing. He gets even strong and better at fighting, thus, the armour he is wearing some of the pictures here. Comes back to earth for revenge.

"Ultimate" is just a line up/universe that Marvel came up with. There are many comics using that. Such as Ultimate Spiderman (which actually ended with the death of Spidey this month) also Ultamite Xmen,Thor, and I think Ultimate Avengers.
