I don't want to turn this thread into a discussion about tech specs. The discussion has been had in the suspension section, and a certain other ls1 site. Search on IRS there.
However, in brief:
Pros:
1. Lower unsprung weight
2. each wheel follows the road independently
3. better ride quality -see point 1 and 2
4. More confidence inspiring when bumps are encountered -see point 1 and 2
Cons:
1. Greater complexity
2. More power is soaked up by additional linkage, rotational resistance, and the tendency of the IRS to squat under acceleration.
3. Not as strong as a comparably sized solid axle
4. Not ideal for drag racing.
5. Being as far as it is from a stock f-body setup it will place the car outside of competitive classes for drag, autox, or road racing.Last edited by lees02ws6; 06-05-2011 at 04:46 PM.

yes it's lowered on stranos on the front (1.25"), the rear obviously is a different animal, but that is also lowered 1.25". The 315's do fit well.
