03 and up can blow out a plug, just less common bc they are 8 thread heads, BUT they could and have spit plugs out

good trucks other then that, but with like everything else it has its own little stupid problems, nothing to worry about if your not going to be beating the piss out of it in stock forum

a good bolt on, and well tuned one will run 12s in the 1/4

by far one of my favor pickups i have owned, never gave me one single problem

Are you expecting more out of a performance truck/SUV?
No offense, but in order to get the ET's they get....they need gearing around the 3.90 to 4.11 mark.
    Or a blower.
None of which will get decent mileage if you even touch that gas pedal.
I know my '08 TBSS is a 4.10 from the factory. Explains the 17-18MPG on the highway.

Of course, neither the TBSS or the SRT-8 Jeep are really trucks.....

No i don't expect any different at all. I personally just simply can't afford 12 MPGs.

    I don't blame you.
I leave the TBSS at home unless I have my kid and her wheelchair with me.

    Sadly now demodded :(

My boss's 02 Ford PU (5.4L V8 - short of the supercharger he cloned it into a Lightning) has had to be repaired for the "spit plug" syndrome late last year. His truck currently has 70k or so miles on it.

When he told me about it I laughed and proclaimed to him that there was a TB out on that and his dealer should have notified him of it.

thats the reason why i dont get an SRT8 or TBSS,, i had hemi R/T gas milegae was horrible..
the jeep is nice,, but def not on my list thanks to the gas mileage..

that case i would go for the SRT10....regular cab

Some turbo diesels can get 20-22mpg freeway with a good tune and runs 12s and 11s. But yes 12-16mpg should be expected fro mgas performance truck. I got 19mpg freeway with the typhoon but in the city I get horrible gas mileage because I cant seem to stay out of boost.

I drove into work today in one.

I car-pull with my friend. He usually drives the Escort in...today he came by the house in his Jeep SRT8.

I'll ask him today what he gets for gas mileage in it. He's had it awhile now.

I had an 01 lightning and liked it. My duramax is faster, though, and can tow and haul much more.

What are Lightnings running these days price wise? For a lower mileage, good condition one? Just curious.

I know they stopped making them in 03 right?
