Sweet! They just put new spark plugs and wires in today and put on the headers. I can't wait to get her back!! I'm tired of driving the Trailblazer and every time I turn I slide on the leather seat. Miss those TA seats!!

You have headers on your V6? What type of tuning do you need for your new engine/headers or is is 100% stock rebuild?

I love my Z28 seats compared to my Jeep. I have a 2005 JGC Limited and the leather seats I am not a fan of. Its not the leather persay its the shape of the seats. Much like your Trailblazer. I like to be held in place, SUV seats dont cut it and honestly my Z28s dont compare to my Corvette or my GTO that I had as far as seat comfort. I would swap GTO seats in this Z28 in a heart beat!

Dare I say the 3800-II or L36 is sorta like the stock bottom end you LS1 modders have..

In that a short block L36 in stock form responds well to Fi and spray in stock form to a point..

Then we pretty much have to do the same as you guys.. Throw money @ it..

Just boltons? yeah there will be gains but you've got to go heads and cam to really wake it up..

I was gonna do a GT2 cam but it would void the warranty but I'm happy with the headers. Only reason I would need a tune is if I gut the cats but I'm doing that later. They had to put in new spark plug wires cause the headers blocked the angle where the old wires went in so they needed an elbow joint to fit properly.

A desent cam on the stock heads will show gains obviously..

But imho something needs done to the heads to realize rhe potential of ANY cam you deside on..

Oh and yes, I would get it professionally tuned after headers too.. 3800 = ping out the wazoo if not tuned..

PCM may pull timimg and you may not see the gains from the headers..imho

I was going to ask if that is the reason for the change.

Not sure if you are A4 or 5-speed but I am curious to see if the rebuild gas mileage.

I had the 3800 II in my 1996 Regal GS 2-door. I LOVED THAT CAR! If I would have kept it I was thinking putting a super charger on it from a wrecked Riviera that I knew a guy had sitting in his garage. lol I sold it with 107k miles on it and it ran like a gem. Tranny was still ok but felt weak and would hunt for the correct gear but at 25 mph if you hammered on it the thing would chirp the tires and pull like mad till about 60 or so then peter off.

So I got the car back yesterday and man did it feel good to drive her again! Headers sound nice and no ping after install. It has more of an aggressive growl at idle and high RPMs than before. Got new plugs and wires thrown in there to so I'm one VERY happy camper!!
