How does that solve my problem that I have to send them in to strange?

Also, I thought the backing plates are pressed in, or at least something is pressed in to hold them.

I know that strange won't warranty the axles if you don't send them in and choose to install it yourself.

nah... there are 4 bolts that keep the plates on... they jsut slide on and bolt up... that sucks about the install... just a way for them to make more money for super easy work...

They don't charge anything extra when you send them in.

I know on the 9", you need to press the axle bearings on the axles after installing the backing plates. Still not that hard to do.....but if they won't warranty it, I'd send mine in too.

yeah... they are easy to pop off...

pop your pumpkin over... get stank ass gear fluid on your self... loosen the tiny bolt in the center of the differential to remove the pin so the shims come out... push your axle in (with 4 chan abs you'll need to take off the sensor bolt so the axles move in) and remove the c-clips (don't drop them inside the posi unit!!!)... take axle out and take off 4 bolts holding the backing plates...

I have an extra 9 inch laying around. Are they incrediably hard to fabricate for the trans am? Granted this is one with higher gears in it that I didn't want to use on the 65.

    Alternator went out on me.

It's getting to that awesome age where things start to just kinda go.. I'm about to hit 140,000 miles.

Last month it was the water pump.

Before that was my lock switches.

    And my door speaker.

    And my window.

My car needs to knock it off.

Only thing that would really be reusable is the third member.
