Ram air for Camaro
My car is a z28 but I want to turn it into ram air.
Would this hood be appropriate for a ram air set up that uses my SLP lid? and/or would I be better off getting a vollant air intake?
Also, what are the heat extractors that they are talking about? it is an additional 100 dollars.

Many have gone with the volent CAI with good results..
I have a car with funtional heat extractors built into the hood.
They basicly let hot air escape the engine bay and also aid in air flow threw the rad while driving..

You will need to use their ram air box interface kit along with that hood to make it truly ram air. With your air box or volant, it will not be fully ram air.

With the ram air interface kit - you will only be getting the air through the scoops on the hood. If you use a volant or slp intake - you will be drawing air from underneath the car and the engine bay. The kit basically seals the intake to the hood scoops. There was a thread with this in it - I'll see if I can find it.

Here's a link to view some hoods from our sponsor LM Performance. http://www.lmperformance.com/t/53-8/1.html
Personally I've always liked the style of the Ultra Z hood...for a ram air hood. Would be nice if it had a heat extractor cut into the back of it but a body shop could always remedy that.

I have had bad experiences with LMPERFOMANCE and my family member does own a body shop and that "cut" is only as good as the cutter which sucks if the person is having a bad day. Besides you have to treat it as a lamborghini hood!
Anyways your company offers a ram hood with the ram air intake made for the hood right like the one I plan on getting?Last edited by Hot head; 04-12-2011 at 03:00 PM.

But that is not true ram air if I get this hood and the Volant it would still pull air from underneath the body, which the F body is designed to do. With the hood and their new air box it would be true ram air. Its going to cost at least 1,300 dollars to do this right...
