Electric problems?

Recently my 99 m6 TA started doing all kinds of random things. The rear hatch constantly opens, the headlight motors make noise and the gauges go all crazy. Along with all that, it now won't start for hours after its been driven, it idles extremely high (when it does start) and it dies after running for a few minutes. I put a new battery in it and checked all the connections and it didnt change anything. Anybody have any idea what it could be?

Could be BCM(body control module) related.

Sounds like a few things here.. BCM could be one. But engine run issues would likely be another..

"Service Engine Soon" light on?

How about a "securety" light?

Some problems won't throw a SES light right away or even @ all.

But the PCM will make logs that can be scanned for free @ your local chain auto parts..

I just checked it and theres no lights on at all.

But, like smittro said, you car can through a code, and an idicator light will not go on. If you take your car to the auto parts store, they'll scan your PCM for free. There might be a hidden issue that the PCM knows about.

When it doesnt start does it crank when you turn the key?

It does crank but won't start.

Swap out the starter relay. They can act intermittent when they are on their way out. There's one similar to it already underneath the hood, but I can't recall which one it is.
