Took it out of winter hibernation today, in a bid to save some $$$$ on fuel...
My 2001 crew cab 7.3 F350 is sucking down too much of that $4.10 diesel to remain my daily driver at the moment...

My daughter wrecked a pair of Z28's in her first year of driving... totalled both and neither accident was her fault. Both times she had 'right-of-way' and was cut off from people turning in front of her. Both times during daylight and clear weather. Now she's got a supercharged Grand Prix. Not too bad I figure, 18 and on her 4th car already (other was a convertible Sebring - engine popped - I was driving - crap engine).

I went to subway, and 2 older guys pulled up in their mustang GT's 98-04 models, next to me as I was backing out and they revved. Both of them with K&N stickers and flowmaster stickers. I bet all their stickers added at least 300 HP. Regardless, I revved and it was about 5 times louder than theirs. First guy said, "Wow, what exhaust is that? I'm going to rid of my flowmaster after hearing your car" I told him it won't sound as good because he's driving a Ford. I hate Mustangs.

oh just your standard BS.
I personally like the feel of the Pro 5.0 so far, very solid "click" into each gear.
only problem is that i had to cut my rubber boot, so its louder.
pro 5.0 says to cut the boot, ls1howto says not to cut it.
it fits just fine without cutting it, but in my case, when going into 2nd or fourth, the boot was folding up, and wedging between the shifter and the bump stop, making it pop out of said gears, I'm sure this problem is a case to case basis.
I just went ahead and cut the top of the boot off, i could have taken it all apart, and made it all pretty and fit snug around the shifter base, but i didnt want to remove the console, so i just hacked the top off. Now the shift makes an audible "click" into each gear, but i kind of like that reassurance....

Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
I heard the mgw was supposed to be the quietest of the two. I'd be interested in pics to see how high your knob sits if possible.

I bought the Hurst aftermarket billet shifter. No issues with it thus far. Did not need to modify the stock boot at all and was able to use the existing Hurst shift knob from the OEM Hurst shifter.
It is not really a short throw though. Same as stock Hurst shifter height. It feels a lot better than the stocker though when shifting.
