Pewter- 2000 Z28 Camaro
All of these arguments for the rise of China or the uprising of Islam or the tax structure of Europe are simply not dealing with the problem. The problem is that we don't develop and produce energy resources in our country. Everyone keeps talking about the need to get on with the development of that next magic source of green power that will end our dependency on foreign sources. That isn't going to happen as a result of cutting off the current energy source. That's just downright childishly stupid. If these alleged new sources are viable they should be able to stand alone in the market without government support. If they are not, then they are not. There is no evil plot trying to block the advent of clean energy from the American public (unless you count the nuttzo environmentalists and their forty year war against nuclear power). There is only the fact that renewable energy sources are inefficient and can't compete in the marketplace. Have Obama lift the ban on drilling in the Gulf, in ANWAR and everywhere else in the U.S. That would go a long way to solving the problem.

I want to mention contrary to popular belief (Fox's false news, etc), USA imports most of it's oil from Canada.
And yeah I believe the price of crude oil is through the roof because anytime something happens in the middle east or somewhere where oil is pumped, it gives them an excuse to jack prices.. Case in point, look at when Katrina hit.. Gas prices went through the roof even before the hurricane hit USA.

This is NOT the political debate section. I suggest if you guys want to get into that, you can create a thread in there. There will be no more political discussion, I can already see this is getting out of hand.... as all political debates do.
Now that I've said that
$3.49 for regular right now across the street. I filled my truck up on Thursday with 93 BP premium for $3.75.

What we need to do is convince are goverment to start drilling oil in this country and become independent. We have been to dependent on the mideast oil for to long. It is time to tell the oil rich mideast to shove it.
If we had been drilling here sinc the 2008 bull crap we would be paying $2.00 a gal not the $3.79 it is now. LarryLast edited by lscamino; 03-07-2011 at 05:56 PM.
