Finally got one!

Went and looked at it yesterday, it's everything I wanted. Was debating on either a red, blue, or black C5. 6 speed was a must, I love my A4 LS1 Zs, but I miss my old 6 speed LS1, and after my buddy recently purchased a '99 SS (that he also recently sold

) 6 speed, my yearning has since heightened. So anyways, black was sweet, and I'm a firm believer that nothing looks better than a black car when it's clean. However, it's so damn tough to keep it clean, and the swirl marks become more apparent in direct sunlight. Zaino, I'm sure, could easily fix it, but I've had black cars before and wasn't thrilled about what I had to go through to make it perfect. Red belongs on a corvette, IMO. But something about it seemed like... well, I dunno... too flashy? A little "hey, look at me"? And then I found the blue one. I've always loved the NBM on the f-bodys, but it looks even better on the vettes! When I first drove up to see it, my jaw dropped. Did the paperwork on it last night, got the specifics worked out today, signed the papers, and drove it home!

Man, what a difference going from a 4th gen LS1 fbody to a C5 vette! Ride quality, handling, lack of squeeks and rattles (although my pewter car has none, surprisingly), comfortable seats, and best of all, the 6 speed! It's a 2002, coupe, with 32k miles, 100% stock. I'll get better pictures of it tomorrow, and a video of the shifter, as I'm questioning if it has a short throw in it or not. For right now, I had to make due with cell phone pics as it seems my digi has come up missing

Anyways, I'm so excited, I just had to share!

Thanks man! I noticed you've got a '08 Z... they had a light baby blue C6Z sitting right next to it. I offered the guy to take it off his hands for the same price as the C5 but for some reason he wasn't having it

What gears come in the M6 C5s? Are they still the same 3.42s as the f-bodys or are they 3.27s? I can't remember

Ah common! I only ask because the c5z06's aren't going for much more than the c5's, and seeing as how the one you are looking at is low mileage I can't think it would be one of the cheaper vettes.

I'm so excited about the car. Drove it to work and back today. Thing handles great. The power transfer of this thing is soooo smooth! Nothing like either of the f-bodys parked next to it. My white Z is alot faster, hands down, but that's where the line is drawn between the two cars. Now I understand why everybody says that in the first place. Wish I could DD the damn thing, but the miles MUST stay off of it, until I get that damn loan paid in full. Thought I heard the throwout bearing at a stoplight last night on the way home, wasn't sure. Got up at 3:45 this morning to make my daily commute, and it's usually non-stop at those hours, plus I was tired, so I wasn't listening for it then. Became more evident on the drive home, so I called the chevrolet dealership where I got it from, and scheduled an appointment to bring it in at 5pm tomorrow. I've had 2 6 speed LS1 TAs, both with factory clutches, so I definately know what I'm doing with the left and right pedal. They better not dock it as some sort of customer fault, or we're going to be having some words

Anyways, was able to snap some better pics right before the sun went down. Still looking for my camera too

Looks good man, reminds me of my buddies mom's vette it had 30k on it and was a 98 base model auto. That was the car I taught my buddy that does nothing but drive a 6.6 turbo duramax, that boy could not drive for shit lol. I wish I could afford one myself or I would def have one right now!!

3.42, 2.73 or 3.15 for the auto. They say 3.90's wake up the 6 speed C5.

great buy on the C5 its a big step from the fbodys when ppl see u in a normal sports car theyre like ahh its nice but when U are in a Corvette the response is so much different!

Very cool, congrats man!

My friend has an 02 Z06, black on black, that he may have to sell due to some mold issues with his house and he doenst have 11k sitting around to fix the mold issue. I think it has like 27k miles or less and he is thinking of asking 22k. I wish I wasnt in school.
