New 80mm throttlebody :)
SO i got this new 80mm throttle body in and thought id post it up
First thing since the headers ive touched the engine for mods. wish i could have had replaced the intake manifold while i was in there, but its simple enought to take back out when the time comes.
The only thing i didnt like was the straigt coolant passage. THe stock one has a 90 degree turn to the front where the new one is straight. It fits fine but you have make sure the coolant hose going to the radiatior doesnt touch the tention pully.
This is a Vision Motorworks 80mm TB. Comes with an install kit: spacer, braket adpter/new bracket it needs be (2000+ cars), hardware, gasket, and TB of course. Also has a mounting bracket that moves the cable braket forward to accomidate the new throttlebody and spacer. Cost me $74.00 plus shipping through ebayits brand new.
OH! also if you have the SLP smoothe bellows on there like i do, you need to trim about 1/4" off both sides on the rubber bellows to allow the rest of the lid and MAF to fit back in place. That or trim you lid outlet which i didnt feel like doing. rubbers easier lol
WHatcha think?Last edited by JoshuaGrooms83; 02-14-2011 at 12:05 PM.

nice looking piece. I put the fast 90 combo on my 02. You ever think about doing the delete on your coolant line thru the throttle body?

So far the motor is stock. If i can FIND one ill do an LS6 intake manifold. Got LT headers and cated Y on the exhaust side of the house. Ive been tossing the idea of some kind of H/C package from texas speed of Trickflow

Glad i could inspire. Now dont expect a huge HP gain or anything out of this set up, but with an LS6 Intake, and the 80mm TB, should give the motor some well deserved breathing room. Will really help it out once Heads and cam are done too.

WEl for us lower species -98-00) lol we have to deal with the EGR that didnt come on 01 and ups so here the deal on that.
If you need to keep emissions stuff on
-Get the SLP LS6 intake, comes with EGR provisions.
-My least fav idea, drill a hole to fit the existing EGR into the Non EGR ls6 intake.
Now if you dont need your EGR
-Get rid of the EGR pump assembly
-while your there you might as well get rid of the AIR stuff too.
-Get some EGR/Air block off plates.
- If you got an EGR equiped manifold youll need a plug for that too.
-Get a tune cause your SES light will come on.

cars running good so far. No complications or leaks. On a side note, make sure you put a hose clamp of some kind on the PCV hose on the TB. The tube on the new TB is a little smaller then the old TB. THat or my old PCV hose is old and stretched out lol
