I don't know if I would want something like that hindering me while I am trying to engage a target in combat. It is useful for the amount of rounds it can allow you to put down range but in the prone position could get tricky. But like they showed in the combat situation you can turn ur weapon sideway to allow for the length of the magazine so I guess that it evens out that factor from my point of view and being a vet from Iraq!!

That part was exactly what got me thinking "no". How would someone aim the weapon unless in a standing or croutched position? Unless you're just spraying rounds you'd play hell trying to aim the thing.. It looks like more of an ashualt setup to me.. Or maybe they should'nt have shown it being used from a flat prone position.. Tho I did notice they were using a holo sight, maybe that helps..
You guys are trained to adapt so I know you guys can figure out how to be effective with something like that.. But I'd hate to be adapting or taking my eyes off target to look @ my weapon when the bullets are flying my way..
Not to take away from the thread tho.. Very cool setup, but feels like it should have more of a specific use rather than in all combat situations..

Well you see how they have the weapon turned sideway's when they did that combat simulation!! With the cco/halo/acog you can actually accurately fire your weapon sideway's with those sites on their. Because when we qualify with our gas masks you have to turn it sideway's to fire or else your breaking your neck trying to see the sights.

The 60 seems to be nearly the same dimensions as a 30, only double wide.
Good way to cook a barrel!

My personal experience I have never in my entire 5 years being in used a full auto m4 or m16 they are just implauseble, cause its hard to keep a weapon on target, that is why they have mostly went to the 3 round burst and single shot!! So as you seen putting one full 100 round mag threw an m4 is not going to melt the barrell at full auto maybe 5 or 6 of those mags back after back yes it's going to cause you some problems.

melting a barrel is ludicrous anyhow. After 100 non stop full auto rounds, temperatures are high enough to change the characteristics of the steel.
