They ran through Mobile not to long ago. Driver said he was getting something like 25plus MPG which is just insane (and they expected better with more miles). If I hadn't just signed the papers on a 2011 Mustang GT (and if I actually needed a truck), this is what I would buy without question.
This is a good watch. Ford definately has their shit together. The fact they've done so well without government bailout and making some kick ass cars is why a Ford is the only manufacturer in our driveway at the moment.

Two drawbacks are that it isn't in a regular cab (of course) and it is pretty expensive. Great otherwise. Tuning will bring even more power

Considering that pretty much every truck sold is a four door, and the market for regular cabs is so small, I can't see that as a negative.

I havent see how much one will cost .. I think you can get it in a regular extended cab...

Impressive testing. If I was ever in the market for a truck, something Ford F seriesish would be on my shopping list...

Here are the teardown videos if anyone is interested. This thing looks very, very promising, the thing that also tricks me out is that it runs on Unleaded.

Yup, the 5.0 is also pretty stout in these trucks as well, rated at 360hp 380tq. I believe it's pretty similar to the 5.0 in the GT's but has some differences due to it being a truck motor. Also to add, the 5.0 trucks are priced very closely to the 4.8/5.3 trucks and outperform both.

Please man, don't start with this shit. A good truck is a good truck, I came across it and thought it was a pretty interesting comparison and decided to post it, that's all.
I think the Chevy 6.2 would take the cake, however, Ford also has a 6.2 out, the posted EcoBoost is technically a mid-level motor. But the thing is, Ford's 6.2 is only available in the Platinum edition F150's and Raptor's, versus GM's 6.2 which you can get in almost every truck trim available I believe.

Thats the issue, what makes this a GOOD TRUCK
Just because it will beat the Chevy and Dodge in a straight line race (Could careless about loaded/unloaded and grade of incline) Dyno break in testing is no where accurate compared to real world driving where things are unexpected with a million different variables.
Remember when Ford added those insanely strong 6 bolts that hold the bed to the frame commercials...........My mechanic buddy (with me there) snapped 5 outta 6 of them trying to get the bed off....real strong
I will agree with what I seen (Ford did win) but thats a bias test obviously (Like Chevy and Dodge would do)
I have driven a Ford that lasted 268,XXX miles on stock clutch and what not so I'm not a Ford hater but I've seen more then my fair share grenade (Trannys/Motors).
Just sayin.....

Burple- 1966 427 Cobra Replica
How long until GM gets on board with boosted DI engines?
Do they still put the 4-banger from the GXP Solstice / Redline Sky in anything?
With a dealer-installed tune, keeping the factory warranty, that motor makes almost as much torque as a bone-stock LS1.
