Your kidding right?!?! Trucks suck!! Sorry to say it, but I hate those hemi/diesel bastards that think they'er mile wide and high truck is the shit!! Then think they can hang with race cars. HA!!! Loosers. At night most rev. they'er engines and want to race, I just laugh at em as I leave em at the light. Damn hillbillies !

I say do the truck with a light body and Big Block. It would be alot more unique and you can stuff some big ass fat tires in it!

I am doing the same thing right now. I already have a 78 truck that I am doing some work to but I drove an SS. That made me want one a whole lot more.

i don't think it would leave a camaro at the line. it may be close, being the truck is a lot lighter, and probably pushing close to a stock ls1, but it won't leave it in the dust.

I Had A 73 Chevy Fleetside That A Got To Weigh About 2600 Lbs With Me In It. No Joke And A 454 Big Block With A Turbo 400 Tranny. Fiberglass Front End And I Cut Out Almost The Whole Bed Floor. All The Goodies. Forged Bootom End, Ported Edelbrock R- Ports And A Highly Ported Air Gap Intake Dual Plenum. I Spent 5 Years Building It And Even With The Power And The Weight It Was Barely What I Needed. Traction My Friend Is A Huge Factor Baby. Especially In A Truck With That Much Tq. Even With Stickies And Ladderbars, Custom Track Bar And Even Changed Wheelbase For A Good Squat. Only Was The Thing Good Off The Line With 500 Lbs Of Drywall In The Bed. I Made The Choice When I Bought The Ls1 And Im Still Happy Exept Now Someone Else Has My 7500 Dollar Motor In A Chevelle Running 11.20 With A Muncie 4 Speed And Slow 3.50 Gears. So Get The Traction Not The Tire Spin

Silver- 2002 Camaro SS
There are deffinetly alot of truly fast cars on the streets these days.
But not to many TRULY fast trucks, It is cool to see a nice truck on the streets that actually runs as good as it looks. I'd say do the truck for a play toy and the car for a driver. Besides, no matter how you build a truck it is not going to get the mpg that a car would.
