2007 Silverado 5.3L
Got the cam in. Headers / CAI et al and Allen Nelson tuned it. Now time for the Stall/Shift Kit/ Cooler and Vette Servo. Got a mid range cam....560'ish lift and 114 LSA. She really hits around 2800-3000 RPM.
I do no hauling of any kind with the exception of ass. I could care less about MPG.
I see Yank has a 2600 and 3000 "truck" stall. WTF is that all about?
Anybody have any experiance with these? I mean I have the regular Joe GM 4 speed in it. Why have a "truck" stall? What is the difference I wonder?
I am after a 3000 rpm stall. My buddies tell me that is too high. They are saying 2600 rpm. Of course they all drive slow ass cars so I rarely listen to them. What say ye ls1.com....................
I have a Yank in the GTO and it has served me well for a few years and some really hard miles. But I am open to any suggestion/thoughts here.

I'm thinking the truck specific stall converters are setup a little different because of the weight of the truck(compared to a car) and maybe towing stuff is also considered. I suspect the lockup clutch might be a little beefier too. But these are just thoughts. No real world info.
You buddies suggesting the lower stall is an old school way of thinking. Todays lockup converters and the powerband of these LS based engines make the higher stall converters a good match. Like peanut butter and jelly
