Not to change the dirrection of this thread but my vehicle would consume
a 1/2 a qt of T-6 in 3000 miles and I usually go 6000 on an oil change.
I've switched to Mobil Truck Turbo Diesel 5w40 which is a sister to their Delvac 1 line , not identical , and havn't had to add any oil in 6000 miles.
The T-6 is more reasonably priced but I get 20% off the Mobil where I work.
NO difference in fuel mileage between the two.

t 6 and Mobil 1 truck and diesel turbo 5w40
I have used both of the above,,,both do well in my
dodge 318. I to have used other oils that used a qt in 3000 miles.
dont know why,,but the t6 a Mobile 5w40 both work well for me, glad u found the one that works best for u.

White over Blue- 94 Mustang GT Convertible
Switched from the Wal Mart TC-W3 this summer to Valvoline. Seem to have picked up another 1 to 2 mpg in the Odyssey and Accord. Got a "best ever" mpg from Reno to Socal last week of 28+. Ya, Ya, I know it's all down hill but there's 4 years of fuel tickets on this run. This will pay for the 2x price of the Valvoline over the SuperTech. Anyone else try a different brand of the TC-W3 and notice a difference? Is this confirmation of the ol "You get what you pay for" quote???

supertech and valvoline 2 cycle
I still have a gallon of superstech to go, but I will try a quart of valvoline and see, good report.

- 2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500
Wow this thread has been going on for a while...I LOVE IT! I have read all posts and am 1000% positive I will try it tomorrow. I just have a couple quick questions before I do.
Here are my particulars...2001 GMC Yukon XL 2500, with Vortec 8100 (8.1L). I currently have 160k miles on it and just yesterday had to replace a bad fuel pump. I have a slight miss at idle that I can't seem to solve so I'm hoping this oil add will fix it.
So, here is my question...if my calculations are correct...I have a 38.5 gallon tank. I'm about 3/4 tank right now so I will fill up and add 7 ounces of TC-W3 correct? Then each time I fill up (usually from half tank or about 20 gallons) I'd add 4 ounces. RIGHT?
Thanks!! J

If you want to do 1oz./5gallon, then 38.5/5=7.7 so round up to 8. Or some people do 1oz./4gallons. So then 38.5/4=9.625. Any where around 8-9 oz's should be good. I don't think it has to be exact. I would divide by 5 and always rounded up. ex. 21gallons/5=4.2 I would put 5ozs
I was doing this to my 89 GMC until I sold it. It helped with start-up, vibration, and fuel pump noise. I never figured the MPG's after I started the treatment.

U dont have to be exact, I do use an old measuring bottle though, makes it easier. I have been using the tcw3 for sometime,,on my 4th or 5 th gallon, 275k miles on my dodge van. I do have a bad valve seat and the 2cycle oil makes the engine run less rough at idle. the fuel pump noise is gone and Ive got almost 100 k on the plugs too. Mileage last week one take was 18 mpg, but I was runniing at 60mph, if I run at 65 or 70 it goes down to 15.5 or 16mpg, not bad for a one ton van with a 318 v8. 2002 model that I haul freight in. I usually add 7 oz or 8 oz when I fill up very 550 miles.

One quick question.....I have been using tcw3 additive for several months in my vehicles and am well pleased with the results.....Now that I am using this additive, do I need to also use injector cleaner? I have not used any since I started using tcw3.......

Walmart has Pennzoil TCW3 in full synthetic, and is about 27 or 28 dollars a gallon. It cost more, but it is worth the extera money. Its all I ever used and my results are fantastic......

jk still using amsoil stuff in mine. Just turned over 200k last week and still little to no smoke, I don't calc my mileage exact but I do reset my trip every tank. 280-300 miles per tank, impressive for an old b!tch
