White- 2002 Pontiac Trans Am
2000 or 2001 Trans Am, which should I buy?
Whats up everyone, well Im looking to get a TA and have narrowed my choices here between 2 TA's that are foir sale in my area.
1. 2000 TA (base) with about 59K miles, manual non ram air listed at about $13,000.
or
2. 2001 TA (base) with about 62,500 milea, manual with the ram-air hood at $15,000 (but im sure i can get the price lowered)
(both black and no mention of performance upgrades for both)
Im gonna do a carfax on both and have looked at the differences in years on a posted list. Right now Im leaning towards the 2001 but if for some reason, they are set on that price, I may have to consider the 2000. Im alittle undecided. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Depending on how much you can talk them down I'd say the 01. But thats just my preference.
30th Anniversary Trans Am #0998

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
From strictly a performance standpoint I'd go for the 01 because of the LS6 intake, no EGR and the Ram Air hood.

Blackened fire chicken- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
if the '01 has a ram air hood, its proly a ws6. did it have the wing spoiler on the hatch? if you can talk the '01 down to 13k, id get that one ;P like the other dude said, ls6 intake, no egr, and a ram air hood, all plus's...

I have to agree I have a ram air hood on my car no WS6 badges but most people never even notice. I would say the 01 for the better looking hood and LS6 intake. At the same time a LS6 intake is only like $300 and you could always get a ram air hood later.
I know where I live in Houston For around the $15-$16k range you can get a similar mileage C5 Vette. Price seems a littler high on both but if the carfax is clear on both and they won't come down from $15 I would try to work a deal on the 2000.

Black- 2000 WS6 6spd Hooker LT
'01.
Has the better intake, and no EGR, looks better under the hood.
And, if you have a raised airbox (more than a finger under the inlet, it's a ram air airbox someone put on to match the hood. The raised airbox is about 2'' tall for the air inlet, vs. 1'' for the standard (and all Camaros) airbox).

Neither.
Both are fairly overpriced.

White- 2002 Pontiac Trans Am
Great Info guys, appreciate the input. I am leaning towards the 2001 and will try to have a price drop, I currently have a white 2002 A4 TA, but now looking for a manual trans. Im either planning on selling my current TA. I'm meeting the dealership this coming Monday, I know I will not go over $13K for it. I will keep you guys posted. And if I do see a WS.6 or Firehawk for the right price, I'll consider it as well. Thanks again everyone, helpful info.
