All the kids in my neighborhood were raised strictly and if the kids acted up that =
i'm 23 years younger than you, american lineage from way back, and was spanked for acting up. I was taught to ride (no training wheels at 3.5-4) and not be a dumbass then let loose. Never had a problem. These folks didn't teach their kids I guess

i was raised in a supervised home but definately not sheltered. and i got to do pretty much whatever i wanted as long as i told them exactly where i was going to be. and i dont think i have turned out too bad i mean im in college and have a full time job. but i think thats how im going to raise my kids in the future as long as they are as respectful to me as i was to my parents

I understand and agree that accidents happen, but some can be avoided like that one.
While you maybe sick of some people, some of us are also tired of some.
Most parents attitudes with the whole, my kids are more important than anything else and trample your rights is tiring.
Its been proven time after time that the only way in todays modern time people learn anything is when it comes down to money.
Enough parents get "fined", youll see how quickly kids are taught manners and what not to do.
It hasnt been proven that that's the only way in which people learn their lesson in today's society. It has been proven that we are a society full of people who are greedy and self-centered and care more about how much money they have than they do about anything else. Don't get me wrong, money is a very important thing in society (duh), but suing over stupid pointless things just makes me wonder whether people have any sense of morality these days. Go back 50 years and look and see if there were four year olds getting sued or 60 year old women suing someone for not telling them they're coffee was hot. It's rediculous. People need to be held accountable for their own lack of common sense, like looking both ways before crossing the sidewalk or street. You dont just open the door and walk out onto the sidewalk or into the street blindly without looking to see if you are gonna run into someone or get run into yourself do you??

I could not agree with you more with what you posted.
Heres the 61k question, how do we teach common sense to the masses.
