    1999 trans am

    question-need some help

    the jumper cables were hooked up backwards to my '99 TA and now the speedo and a couple other things don't work. no codes or anything else i can find. car runs good otherwise. is there a relay or something i can check ? thanks for any help.

    I'm surprised the PCM even survived actually.. Gonna have to go through many things to locate the trouble.. I'd start with fuses.. Other wise in my oppy I'd just start replacing the burned up items..

    I second what the last guy said about doing what the first guy said. I've always wondered what would happen if the cable was crossed up. Sorry you found out.

    You may have to start the long process of wire chasing. Like Smittro stated, Amazed your PCM survived. Hope it isn't there. May want to PKM Frost and ask if it could be the cause of the problems.

    I had an 84' chevy pick up that when installing a new radio it shorted out the wiring in the steering column. Instrument gauges wouldn't work and caused al sorts of problems. Cost me $220 to fixed. Good luck in finding it. Post it if you find out.
