so i found this DA calculator... according to our info here in houston... since we are 38' above sea level, given our current barometric pressure and humidity, our DA here is 1053.
this calculator gives you corrected 1/4 mile times ....pretty neat...

they recommended a 3200 street for ya huh ? what is odd is they sent me a email saying

"We have our 245mm 4C stall option that is a great converter for what you want. It will flash in the 3600-3800 range. It will work well for most cams in the 220 range. It will be in our Pro Series stage I, so $725."

this is the info i gave them

"Hey Chris looking at getting into a circle D converter..however you have a lot of options and i would like some guidance. Car will be a toy/strip car. The engine's cam and heads will be swapped to something aftermarket. The car tracks with nitto 555r 315/35/r17 and on heavy Torq Thrust Ms.

The tricky part is that DA changes by the hour. In Houston with all that humidity you guys have in the summer months, I wouldn't be surprised to see your DA numbers hit 4,000 easily.

When I bought mine, I wasn't interested in saving a few bucks, so I sprung for the heavy duty unit with the larger lockup clutch. Even though I didn't need it according to the manufacture, (just a cam only car)
I still liked the idea of having the bigger setup for piece of mind, and it's also able to make dyno pulls with the converter locked, something that is not recommended with the smaller unit. For another $200 I said why not.

That also makes it better for nitrous right? I know with the some of the off the shelf types Vig,TCI, etc. You can blow/burn straight throught the conveter. Meaning the converter will no longer work. The car will no longer roll forward under any throttle.

Ya, they make converters with anti-ballooning plates just for nitrous or big HP applications. I run a Coan version of this in my chevelle.
I do believe the heavy duty lockup versions made by the various companies mentioned here also include these features, which is another reason why I wanted to upgrade mine for the 4th gen. I like overkill I guess.
